Some newly offered cultivars MAY be added to our list after they leaf out
around mid-April. Others, including small, rare, and hard to graft cultivars,
may be added in September. Once a cultiver sells out, it remains so until
the following spring.

Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.
Another of the growing number of dwarf coral bark maples that supply the winter interest of the famous Sango kaku, but in a half-size version. Other dwarf coral barks include 'Fjellheim', and Winter Flame. Summer leaves are bright green, turning gold in fall, when the cold weather brings out the red color in the bark. Expected mature size is 12'. 'Aka' is a word for red. 'Kawa' can mean bark or beautiful. 'Hime' can mean a dwarf or princess.
New grafts ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April.
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you.
